American Express Global Business Travel will acquire DER Business Travel, a travel management company that serves small and midsize enterprises in Germany, pending antitrust approval by the German and Ukrainian governments. The acquisition expands Amex GBT's footprint in Germany's SME sector, while DER clients will gain access to GBT's global ecosystem and technology platform. Headquartered in Frankfurt, DER operates in 42 locations across Germany and employs approximately 600. It's the corporate travel arm of the DER Touristik Group, a retail and tourism company. The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter of this year.
