Amgen's total U.S. booked air volume inched up from $49
million in 2018 to $50.9 million in 2019. Amgen incorporated two acquisitions
into the global travel program, migrated additional markets to its global
service center and expanded online booking tools into five additional markets.
The company also recalibrated global point-of-sale fees and implemented hotel
rate caps in its top 20 global cities. The company incorporated CWT RoomIt
content and implemented pre-trip approval in total available markets. Amgen
expanded the use of price assurance technologies to optimize costs and
developed improved compliance reporting and analytics. For meetings, the
company integrated Cvent meetings registration into Concur Travel.
In 2020, Amgen began the year listening to the voice of the
customer to optimize services for an executive travel program. While the
program pivoted to respond to Covid-19 and developed new protocols, the focus
on safety, user experience and cost optimization remain the key drivers on
project prioritization.
