Travel booking and management provider AmTrav has expanded the capability of its Gather tool, launched earlier this year, to handle planning for meetings and events.
AmTrav announced Gather in February as a tool to manage guest travel bookings, with which travel arrangers set policies and parameters around guest travel and let guests book their own travel within those parameters via a link. The meetings solution works in the same manner, in which meeting planners can secure room blocks then send out an email invitation to attendees to book their own travel within set policies.
Attendees book within the AmTrav platform, so they also can access negotiated rates, and planners can select a card for payment. Planners also can work with AmTrav meeting experts to source and negotiate rooms, event space and airline meeting rates.
"Coordinating these trips usually falls on some pour soul who gets buried in tons of calls and emails," AmTrav CEO Jeff Klee said in a statement. "With Gather, we're replacing a big pain point with an easy and enjoyable solution that's completely integrated into the AmTrav platform."
