Airlines Reporting Corp. has become an equity investor in
Traxo, a month after the two companies partnered
to enable direct airline booking data from ARC member airlines to flow to duty
of care providers via Traxo. The investment—for an undisclosed sum—will support
the growth of Traxo's sales and marketing teams, as well as new product
development, Traxo said.
ARC president and CEO Mike Premo in a statement said the
investment would help further the air distribution and intelligence specialist's
goal of providing omnichannel retailing solutions by giving corporates
"much-needed visibility" into the direct distribution channel—Traxo's
bread and butter.
As part of the investment, ARC COO and executive vice
president Lauri Reishus will join Traxo's board of directors. Former Sabre chairman
and CEO Sam Gilliland also will join Traxo's board.
This has been a busy year for Traxo. The Dallas-based
company in 2019 also has announced an integration with data visualization
specialist DVI,
as well as a deal to funnel
direct bookings made on EasyJet's website or mobile app to Traxo client
corporations via the Traxo Connect email capture platform. The company also added
providers Freebird and Rocketrip to its Traxo Connect marketplace, and
powered the groundbreaking direct connection-based travel program pilot devised
by ZS Associates' Suzanne Boyan, who was named BTN's 2019
Travel Manager of the Year.
