BAE Systems had $45 million in U.S.-booked air spend in
2019, according to a BTN estimate. That's a drop from 2018, in which BAE spent
$47 million. In 2019, the UK-based company's revenue £18.3billion.
The defense and aerospace company has taken on greenhouse
gas emission reduction as a priority and has reduced its air travel, according
to its annual report. Between October 2018 and October 2019, the company
reduced its number of kilometers traveled by 2.3 percent. BAE Systems reduced
greenhouse emissions by 8.77 percent.
In 2020, BAE Systems intends to acquire Collins Aerospace's
military Global Positioning System, which is owned by United Technologies, for
$1.9 billion and Raytheon's Airborne Tactical Radios division for $275 million.
If the shuffle happens, it could affect travel spend for all three companies in
the coming years.
