BCD Travel named former Sabre executive Yannis Karmis senior
vice president of product planning and development, a new role at the mega
travel management company. Karmis will set the TMC's strategy for product development,
"including the business intelligence, traveler-facing and travel &
expense management categories." His portfolio includes BCD's TripSource
mobile app and Decision Source Intelligence & Analytics platform. He will be based in Dallas and report to BCD executive
vice president for technology, products and innovation Russell Howell. Karmis departed Sabre this year. He was most
recently vice president for Sabre Corporate Solutions and president of Sabre's
GetThere corporate booking system. Before that, Karmis served as president of
Travelocity Business, which BCD acquired in 2013.
