Spacebase, a sharing economy platform for meeting and event
spaces, has acquired Okanda, a Germany-based online booking platform for hotel
meeting rooms. Okanda was founded in 2014 and has more than 1,600 locations on
its site. This marks the second
purchase for Spacebase this year. In April, the company acquired Eventsofa,
an online marketplace for event locations. Spacebase now owns and operates four
brands that cover the meetings and events segment: Spacebase; Craftspace, an
online platform for food, craft and creative spaces; Eventsofa; and Okanda. The
companies did not disclose financial terms of the agreement.
