Caterpillar's 2019 travel program accomplishments included
global air sourcing and traveler engagement advances, along with streamlining
and clarifying its travel policy. The construction equipment manufacturer—which
earned $53.8 billion in 2019 revenue—also improved booking compliance, with 79
percent of U.S.-booked tickets going through approved channels, representing a
2 percent improvement over the previous year. 2019 U.S.-booked air volume
inched down by about 5 percent year-over-year, from $52.7 million in 2018. Of
total U.S.-booked air volume, 56 percent was for international travel, down 2
percent from 2018.
Caterpillar's 2020 travel goals include sourcing global TMC
services, along with overhauling advanced booking and lowest logical fare
capabilities and continuing deployment of Concur Travel in additional
countries.
