2016 U.S.-Booked Air Volume: $70 million
Credit Suisse decreased its U.S.-booked air spend by 9
percent in 2016, according to a BTN estimate. Net revenue declined 7 percent
year over year. In 2016, Credit Suisse reduced its T&E costs, categorized
under G&A expenses, by 14 percent. It is the mission of the organization to
reduce its carbon footprint, and business travel accounts for 25 percent of its
greenhouse gas emissions. Credit Suisse encourages its employees travel by
train rather than air for meetings within short distances, as well as to use
telephone and videoconferencing to offset emissions. Desktop videoconferencing
hours across the organization grew 7 percent year over year. The firm reduced
its headcount 2 percent in 2016 to 47,170 full-time-equivalent employees.
