2015 U.S.-Booked Air Volume: $63 million
Danaher reduced its U.S.-booked air volume by
more than 10 percent in 2015, according to a BTN estimate. Danaher operates in dental products, life
sciences and diagnostics, measurement and environmental products, among other
areas, and owns more than 40 companies. The conglomerate spun off several firms
in its industrial technology and other sectors in July 2016 to form Fortive, a
standalone, publicly traded company with an estimated value of $6 billion. In
recent years, Danaher has consolidated U.S. travel services of many of its
subsidiaries under American Express Global Business Travel and BCD Travel. The
company’s revenue increased more than 7 percent in 2015 to about $20.6 billion.
Net earnings increased 2 percent to about $2.6 billion. Danaher employed 81,000
people at the end of 2015, compared with 71,000 the year before. Some now are
part of Fortive.
