2022 U.S.-Booked
Air Volume: $200M
Consolidated U.S. TMC: CWT
BTN estimates
Danaher spent $200 million in U.S.-originating air spend in 2022. The company
has been on an acquisition streak, bringing its travel spend up considerably.
It spent $11 billion on acquisitions in 2021, including $9.6 billion on
Aldevron. In 2022 it spent nearly $640 million to acquire 10 businesses,
according to its annual report. Danaher’s 2022 revenue hit $31.4 billion, with
more than 50 percent of that revenue the result of companies acquired in the
last seven years. The company had 81,000 employees as of Dec. 31, 2022.
Danaher continues
to acquire new companies—it announced in August that it would acquire Abcam for
$5.7 billion—but it also spins off businesses from its portfolio. Life sciences
company Veralto, which Danaher, spun off in September is now publicly traded
and reportedly has U.S. air spend of about $40 million of its own. It may be a
contender for BTN’s Corporate Travel 100 next year.
