Due
to bookings for a triennial meeting in South America, the International
Monetary Fund’s U.S.-booked air volume increased 4 percent in 2015. Volume is
expected to dip to $76 million in 2017. This year the IMF will review its
internal trip approval system in order to encourage travelers to book farther
in advance. The IMF, composed of 189 countries, promotes global growth and
economic stability to member countries and developing countries. It employs
about 2,600 people from 147 countries, of which 2,500 travel for work.
