2022
U.S.-Booked Air Volume: $25M
Consolidated U.S. TMC: BCD
Engineering and
professional services firm Jacobs spent $25 million on U.S.-booked air travel
in 2022, more than twice the $10.3 million spent in 2021, according to BTN
estimates.
In fiscal 2022,
Jacobs introduced internal carbon pricing of $50 per metric ton of carbon
dioxide equivalent emissions on corporate non-billable business travel, with
proceeds used to fund carbon reduction and removal initiatives.
The company achieved carbon
neutrality across all operations and business travel in 2020. Jacobs plans to
be net zero for their entire value chain by 2040. In fiscal 2022, business travel emissions,
although rebounding post-pandemic, are still 58 percent less than fiscal 2019
levels.
For its 2022
fiscal year, which ended Sept. 27, 2022, revenue rose 6 percent to $14.9
billion while operating income jumped 33 percent to $918 million.
Jacobs has more than 60,000 employees. The company recently announced plans to spin off its
Critical Mission Solutions business in 2024 to create two separate companies.
