Leidos is a science and engineering company specializing in the civil, defense, health and intelligence sectors. It has 38,000 employees in 400-plus locations across 30 countries. Leidos enters the BTN Corporate Travel 100 with an estimated U.S.-originating air spend for 2019 of $53 million, following solid growth through contract wins and acquisitions of other U.S.-based companies. Revenue in 2019 was $11.09 billion, up from $10.19 billion in 2018. In August 2019, Leidos acquired IMX Medical Management Services for an undisclosed sum; and in December 2019, it announced plans to buy national security research company Dynetics. The deal closed in February 2020 for $1.65 billion. In May 2020, Leidos acquired the airport security detection and automation businesses (with combined revenue of $500 million) of L3Harris for $1 billion. The most recent sustainability report for Leidos, published in 2019, said the company booked 59,038 air trips in 2018 and made 55,842 car rental reservations with an average duration of four days. Business travel accounted for half of the company's Scope 3 emissions of 85,500 metric tons of carbon dioxide in 2018.
