Liberty Mutual increased its U.S.-booked air spend in 2019
to $36.3 million, up from $31.5 million in 2018. In 2020, U.S.-booked air spend
will fall to $10 million due to travel restrictions amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The company has a single global travel policy and a single U.S. travel policy.
In 2019, 91 percent of U.S.-booked air was for domestic travel. About 82
percent of 2019 U.S.-bookings were made through approved online tools, and 75
percent without agent assistance. Liberty Mutual revenues hit $6.9 billion in
2019.
Liberty Mutual made changes to its policy in 2019. The
company removed the restriction that limited the number of employees allowed on
the same flight to twelve. In 2020, policy changes will be structured around
Covid-19, particularly on ground transportation, OBT compliance and flight
layovers.
Liberty Mutual implemented a road warrior program designed
to connect with their top travelers and implement ways to make their lives on
the road easier. In 2020, Liberty Mutual will be focused on consolidating its
hotel program and potentially launching an airline RFP.
