Morgan Stanley's U.S.-booked air volume increased about 7 percent in 2017. Net
revenue increased about 9.5 percent to $37.9 billion. Non-interest expenses
outside of compensation and benefits increased about 4.8 percent to $10.4
billion. At year-end 2017, Morgan Stanley had about 57,600 employees in 42
countries, up from 55,000 at the end of 2016. The company announced in 2017 a
goal of carbon neutrality for its business operations, including business
travel, by 2022.
