2022 U.S.-Booked Air Volume: $45
Primary U.S. TMC: Navan
BTN estimates streaming media company Netflix spent $45 million on U.S.-booked air travel in 2022. While the company confirmed its air
spend would put it on the CT100 list this year, it declined to provide any guidance
on a figure. BTN’s industry sources for our estimate were piecemeal, which
results in less confidence in this estimate.
While Navan serves as Netflix's primary U.S. travel management services provider, BCD holds a piece of the company's production travel management account.
Netflix’s revenue in 2022 rose to $31.6 billion, up
from $29.7 billion in 2021. Emissions from business travel—including air
travel, hotel stays and travel-related transportation— represent less than 10
percent of its Scope 3 emissions, according to its annual ESG report. At the
end of 2022, Netflix employed 12,800, an increase of more than 13 percent over
the previous year, and nearly 50 percent compared to year-end 2019.
