Consolidated U.S. TMC: BCD
Marketing and corporate communications giant Omnicom Group
in 2022 increased its U.S.-booked air travel spending markedly from 2021
levels, according to a BTN estimate.
Omnicom has set a goal to reduce by 2030 its Scope 1, 2 and
3 greenhouse gas emissions 46.2 percent against a 2019 baseline. The company's
Scope 3 emissions, a category that includes emissions generated by business
travel, in 2022 increased about 4 percent year over year to 311,400 metric tons
of carbon dioxide equivalent.
Omnicom's facilities have been equipped with
videoconferencing equipment, a move designed to help reduce the need for business
travel.
The company reported 2022 revenue of $14.3 billion, same as
in 2021. Omnicom at the end of 2022 employed about 74,200 individuals, up from
71,700 in 2021.
