For the first time since being spun off from Ebay as a
standalone company in 2015, PayPal makes its debut on the Corporate Travel 100.
The company in 2019 added the travel manager role and relaunched its official
travel program. Of the $44 million in U.S.-booked air volume in 2019, 75
percent was for domestic trips, with CWT handling the vast majority of both
U.S.-booked and non-U.S.-booked air volume. Booking compliance was strong,
especially for a new travel program, with 86 percent of all U.S.-booked tickets
going through approved online channels. Compliance also was high for preferred
supplier policies for air, car and hotel, at 90, 99 and 90 percent,
respectively.
A TMC switch to American Express GBT and travel policy
changes are in the works for 2020, but not nearly as much travel. The company
projects U.S.-booked air volume for 2020 to fall to $20 million.
