2022 U.S.-Booked Air Volume: $28M
Consolidated U.S. TMC: BCD Travel
U.S.-booked air volume for business and enterprise resource
software giant SAP in 2022 bounced back notably, according to a BTN estimate.
SAP's business travel in 2022 generated about 54,000 metric
tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions. That's nearly quadruple the 14,700
metric tons generated in 2021, but it's far below the 358,600 metric tons
generated in 2019. More than 90 percent of the 2022 business travel emissions
were generated by business flights.
The company since 2016 has charged an internal carbon fee on
business flights in most companies in which it operates to counterbalance
emissions through investment in offset projects. That fee increases each year.
SAP's 2022 revenue increased nearly 11 percent to nearly
€30.9 billion. Total full-time equivalent employees increased more than 4
percent to about 112,000.
SAP owns Concur, a prominent online travel booking and
expense management technology provider.
