Aerospace giant Boeing’s 2022
U.S.-booked air volume increased to $148 million from $28 million in 2021, as
the company had expected a year ago aligned with its business travel beginning
to return to more normalized pre-pandemic levels.
In 2022, enhanced support for the company's corporate travel department, which is a unique structure within BTN's CT 100 list. The company also simplified its
business travel and expense policy and implemented a new user interface for its Concur expense tool.
Boeing achieved net-zero carbon
emissions at manufacturing and other work sites and in business travel in 2022
for the third consecutive year, by expanding conservation and renewable energy
use while securing carefully selected, third-party-verified offsets for the
remaining greenhouse gas emissions. Its total 2022 emissions were nearly 1.4
million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, of which 205,000 were for business
travel, up from 186,000 reported in 2021.
Boeing reported 2022 revenue of $66.6
billion, up 7 percent year over year. The company also resumed deliveries of
its 787 aircraft in August 2022. In total, the company made 480 aircraft
deliveries in 2022, up from 340 a year prior. As of Dec. 31, 2022, Boeing employed
about 156,000 individuals, up from 142,000 in 2021.
