A new service from TravelPerk gives corporate clients the ability to offset their entire travel-related carbon emissions, according to the Europe-based travel management provider. Dubbed GreenPerk, the service is being launched in partnership with nonprofit carbon mitigation specialist Atmosfair. TravelPerk clients that opt into the program pay €27 for every ton of carbon dioxide emitted by their flights, hotel stays, train journeys or car rentals—an amount that typically works out to about 4 percent of the total cost of a business trip, TravelPerk said. Those additional funds are applied toward carbon mitigation projects overseen by Atmosfair. GreenPerk also provides corporates with data and insights designed to help minimize their carbon footprint, including a custom carbon report for each business trip and ongoing environmental education and recommendations, according to TravelPerk.
