2019 U.S.-Booked Air Volume: $95 million
In 2019, AT&T subsidiary WarnerMedia had $95 million in U.S.-booked air spend, according to a BTN estimate, up from $85 million in 2018. The entertainment company, which houses brands including HBO and Turner, saw its revenue fall 3.3 percent to $8.9 billion. HBO saw a 1.9 percent increase in revenue and Turner saw a 1.6 percent increase in revenue, thanks to digital subscribers. In that same year, the company launched its HBO Max streaming service and intends to spend $4 billion over the next three years building it. Amid economic turbulence caused by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, as part of a restructuring initiative, WarnerMedia laid off 600 employees.
