CWT Meetings & Events, the meetings-management arm of
mega travel management company CWT, this week named former global vice
president of commercial Ian Cummings as the unit's global head, the company
announced. Cummings replaces Chris Bowen, who plans to retire Sept. 10.
Cummings joined CWT Meetings & Events in 2012. He is
based in London and reports to CWT COO Niklas Andreen. Before joining the
company, Cummings held management roles at companies including DHL, DX Business
Direct, eCourier, Imparta and Sensigrade, according to CWT M&E.
"Ian has extensive experience leading organizations and
a strong commercial business focus," Andreen said in a statement. "In
his nine years with CWT, he has successfully handled every role given to him at
country, regional and global levels."
Bowen, CWT Meetings & Events' SVP and managing director,
confirmed on LinkedIn that he would retire Sept. 10. He joined the company in
2014. "There is no doubt the last 18 months have been extremely
challenging for the travel, meetings and events industry, therefore it is
fantastic to see the shoots of recovery as I bow out and knowing that I leave
CWT M&E in such capable hands," Bowen wrote.
