Travel messaging specialist Shep has entered a strategic partnership with duty-of-care provider Sitata. Under the alliance, Sitata will source health and safety data and guidance which can be delivered via pop-up alerts to travelers booking trips to relevant locations via online booking tools enabled with Shep's browser extension tool.
Integrating automated data flows from Sitata eliminates the need for travel managers to manually source and load relevant data into Shep's messaging platform to be delivered to travelers, according to the companies. The integration has been undergoing hands-on testing with current Shep client Discovery Inc.
"While the ability to deliver any message on any website was valuable, most travel managers really wanted dynamic notifications," said Shep chief product officer Rey Garcia. "Many were spending large amounts of time manually checking government websites on a trip-by-trip basis, which wasn't fun or scalable."
Incorporating data automation into the Shep platform was one of the main suggestions for improvement made by the judges at BTN's recent Innovation Faceoff, during which Shep garnered an Honorable Mention nod.
For Sitata, the Shep integration follows Wednesday's announcement of an automated Covid-19-related email communication platform from Cornerstone Information Systems, with data sourced from Sitata.
