Emburse has hired software executive Marne Martin as its new CEO, the company announced.
Martin, who began the position on Jan. 15, most recently was chief strategy officer and president of lifecycle management solution company IFS, and she previously was CEO of field management software provider ServicePower and CFO of U.K.-based telecom and defense consulting firm Norcon. She has worked in the technology industry more than 25 years and has led organizations both through initial public offerings and moves to private ownership as well as growth initiatives and mergers and acquisitions, according to Emburse.
Former CEO Eric Friedrichsen, who has led Emburse since its formation via the unification of its brands including Certify and Chrome River in early 2020, has moved to a new role as a member of Emburse's board of directors, according to the company. BTN named Friedrichsen as one of its 25 Most Influential in 2023 for Emburse's acquisition of TripBam, the latest in its recent acquisition streak that also has included Roadmap.
In a statement, Friedrichsen said Martin was "the right CEO to continue this rapid trajectory of growth."
"Emburse has successfully integrated several solutions and businesses, executed a number of transactions, and has acquired some of the world’s largest and most high-profile companies as customers," Martin said in a statement. "As a result, we are well positioned to accelerate the value we deliver to our customers and scale the company to serve the world’s largest enterprises for many years to come."
